Automated Debit Card Fraud Detection

Monson Savings Bank takes fraud seriously and has taken proactive steps to protect your bank accounts by monitoring your debit card and ATM transactions for potentially fraudulent activity through an Automated Debit Card Fraud Detection Service.

You may receive phone call and text message alerts.

If fraudulent debit card use is suspected, you may be called or texted by the Automated Debit Card Fraud Detection Service to validate the legitimacy of your transactions. Your participation in responding to our call or text is critical to prevent potential risk and avoid restrictions we may place on the use of your debit card.

Text Fraud Alerts from 37268

Automated Debit Card Fraud Detection text alerts are available as part of our ongoing fraud monitoring program, to allow you to instantly keep tabs on suspicious card activity. With text fraud alerts, if our system detects suspicious activity on your Monson Savings Bank debit card, you’ll receive a text message.

How it Works:

  • You Receive a Text Message: Text messages will generate from the short code 37268 that will include the bank's name and the transaction(s) in question.

  • You Verify and Confirm or Decline Transaction: You'll be able to verify transactions and confirm/decline the transaction by responding to the text thread with the required responses of “yes” or “no”.

    • If you reply “yes”, the fraud monitoring program will mark the transaction as legitimate, and you can carry on with your purchase or payment by initiating another transaction.

    • If you reply "no", and indicate the transaction is fraud, you’ll receive another message with a number to call for follow-up.

Want to receive text alerts? If we have your mobile phone number on file, you don’t have to do anything to take advantage of this service.* It’s really that easy. If there is suspicious activity, we’ll send a text alert right away. If you need to verify or update your mobile phone number give us a call at 413-267-4646.
